Want to compete?
The Swimming races will be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Albert Park, Melbourne. MSAC is Melbourne’s premier aquatic facility, built for the FINA World Championships, and the Commonwealth Games.
Anyone 18 years of age or older is welcome to compete, regardless of ability, gender, sexual orientation; all are welcome to race. The competition is also open to “multi-class” swimmers as is the case in Masters Swimming Victoria [MSV] swim meets. There are no qualifying times.
Registrations are now closed.
Current Masters Swimming Australia [MSA], FINA Masters, and IGLA rules will govern the meet. The competition will be held across either 8 or 10 lanes (depending on numbers) in a surveyed 50m pool, outdoors but undercover. Additional 25m lanes will be available for warm-up and cool-down in the indoor pool during the swimming races.
Warm-up will open each day at 8:00am. Competition will begin at 9:00am.
All individual events will be seeded by time without respect to age or gender. If necessary, the meet director reserves the right to seed 400-meter events and longer two (2) to a lane, depending on competitor numbers. All events will be scored and recorded by age (18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, and so forth in five-year increments), and gender.
Participants may enter a maximum of five (5) individual events, with an optional 6th event and three (3) relay events. The 6th Event will be at the discretion of the Meet Director, based on competitor numbers.
Relay entries are available at no additional charge; all relay swimmers must already have registered for the swim meet by this time. Relays changes will be accepted until the 9:00am the day of the relay being swum. After that time, no scratches, no line-up changes, and no new entries will be accepted.
All swimmers of a single relay must be subscribed to the same club. Mixed relays must include two women and two men. The USMS transgender policy will be used and is available here.
Distance events; 400 Free and IM; 800 Free and 1500 Free; will require a positive check-in. Swimmers who no longer intend to swim a distance event that they entered are kindly requested to notify the meet director as soon as possible, but no later than 5:00pm the day before their event, in order that swimmers are given the opportunity to be seeded properly.
Registrations are now closed.
